Standard Form Part 2

For problems 1-10, write the equation of a line if given the following information:
  1. m=2/3 and contains (-7, 8)
  2. m= -3/4 and contains (-2, -5)
  3. m= 12/7 and contains (3, 4)
  4. m = -5/9 and contains (-4, -5)
  5. m= 4 and contains (10, 3)
  6. m= -8 and contains (4, -6)
  7. m= 1/6 and contains (-3, -8)
  8. m=3/10 and contains (5, 9)
  9. m= 4/5 and contains (2, 11)
  10. m=10 and 2/3 and contains (-9, -6)

For problems 11-15, identify the slope, x-intercept and y-intercept of each line.

11. 5x+2y =-10

12. 3x-4y = -12

13. -10x -4y = 40

14. 4y - 5x =20

15. 2/3x + 5/2y= 8

#2.2 Linear Equations continued

Write an equation of a line in STANDARD FORM if given:
  1. m=3 and contains (-5, 8)
  2. m=-2 and contains (-2, -3)
  3. m=8 and contains (4, 6)
  4. m=10 and contains (-5, -3)
  5. m=3/4 and contains (-2, 7)
  6. m=-2/3 and contains (4, 4)
  7. m=-5/2 and contains (-2, 11)
  8. m=2/5 and contains (1/2, -3/4)

Remember that standard form looks like Ax + By = C where A, B, and C are INTEGERS. Please write final answer where A is positive!

#2.2 Linear Equations

For problems 1-5, find the slope of the line containing the 2 points.

  1. A(-3, 6) B(4, 1)
  2. C(8, 10) D(-2, -2)
  3. E(-12, 3) F (-3, -5)
  4. G(-4, -6) H(-10, 12)
  5. I(15, 10) J(-3, 8)

For problems 6-7, write the equation of a line in point slope form:

6. m=4 containing (-10, 12)

7. m = -2 containing (4, 6)

For problems 8-10, write the equation of a line in slope-intercept form:

8. m=12 containing (-3, -6)

9. m= -5 containing (-2, 4)

10. m = 8 containing (1, -5)

For problems 11-13, write the equation of a line in slope-intercept form if given 2 points on the line:

11. K (4, 6) L(10, 2)

12. M(0, 8) N(-2, -10)
